Data for better decisions

EthioDataHub exists for one reason: the decisions that shape health programs, research findings, and public services in Ethiopia are only as good as the data behind them.

Our story

EthioDataHub was founded in Ethiopia by practitioners who spent years watching good projects struggle with bad data: surveys that asked the wrong question in the wrong order, forms that let impossible answers through, and field teams left to improvise when the tool did not match reality on the ground.

We decided to fix the problem at its source: the form itself. Today we design professional, field-ready digital data collection forms in XLSForm for KoboToolbox, ODK, and SurveyCTO, working with NGOs, university researchers, and government projects.

Our mission is simple: we don't just build forms; we help you collect better data that leads to better decisions.

Why reliable data matters

In research, a single flawed instrument can undermine months of fieldwork. A skip pattern that fails silently, a question that enumerators interpret three different ways, or a missing validation can leave a Master's thesis or a PhD dissertation resting on numbers that cannot be defended.

In development work, the stakes are just as high. Baseline figures decide where budgets go. Monitoring data decides whether a program continues, changes course, or closes. When an NGO reports to a donor or a ministry plans services for a region, the quality of that first data point in the field travels all the way up the chain.

Digital data collection has made fieldwork faster, but speed without structure just produces bad data sooner. A well-designed form is quality control built in from the first interview: it guides the enumerator, restricts impossible answers, and delivers a dataset that is ready for analysis instead of months of cleaning.

What we stand for

Accuracy

Every form we deliver is tested against real field conditions. Skip logic, constraints, and calculations are verified question by question before your team collects a single record.

Accessibility

Clear pricing, plain language, and support for first-time users. Whether you are a student on a thesis budget or a national program, you get the same care and clarity.

Impact

We measure our work by what it enables: defensible research, programs that reach the right people, and public services planned on evidence rather than guesswork.

Let's build your next instrument together

From a two-page questionnaire to a multi-site monitoring system, we are ready when you are.
